University Graduate – The course so far
November 6, 2019 10:13 pm
This course with EoETT has been the perfect next stage for me in pursuing my career as a Primary School Teacher. The school based nature of this course has given me the practical skills I was lacking and it is a part of the course I highly value. One thing in particular that I was searching for was a course that provided placements within my local area, for travelling to be of a minimum, and this course has definitely delivered. My experiences so far at my placement setting have been amazing and I have a kind and caring mentor that goes out of her way to support and guide me. I have also been able to build strong relationships with staff members, the children within my class, parents and other children across the school.
I completed my Early Years Degree in Early Childhood Studies in May this year and it has been extremely helpful to finally put all of that learnt knowledge to the test in a practical environment, where I am able to teach, experience new things and observe so many knowledgeable and skilled individuals. The training days are filled with useful information and strategies to help you throughout your placement, training you on all areas of school life, the curriculum and all of the year groups.
Although the workload can become overwhelming at times, just like any course, the EoETT tutors have kept it to a minimum and are always contactable for support. The tutors genuinely care about your well-being and are understanding and accommodating to their trainees needs. Therefore, all I can say is stay organised, embrace every opportunity you get and aim high! I really cannot wait to see what the rest of my teacher training year has in store for me!
